Privacy Policy
Effective July 19, 2026We use your information to deliver the reminders you ask for. We do not sell personal information, use alert content for targeted advertising, or send document text to unrestricted AI routes.
01 Scope
This Privacy Policy describes how I Need Alerts (“I Need Alerts,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information when you use our mobile app, website, APIs, and related services (the “Service”). It does not govern independent third-party services you access separately.
02 Information we collect
Name, email address, hashed password, timezone, account status, and authentication records.
Titles, descriptions, dates, recurrence rules, acknowledgment status, channel choices, and reminder history.
Phone number, verification status, SMS consent and opt-out history, disclosure version, and provider message identifiers.
Push tokens, device type, app version, notification attempts, delivery status, errors, and usage allowances.
Plan, entitlement, renewal, trial, transaction, and store receipt identifiers. Payment-card details are handled by the applicable store or payment processor.
Messages you send us, IP address, logs, diagnostics, security events, and basic usage information needed to maintain the Service.
We collect information you provide, information generated when you use the Service, information from your device with permission, and transaction or delivery information returned by providers such as Apple, email providers, and messaging carriers.
03 How we use information
We use personal information to create and manage accounts; store and schedule alerts; deliver push, email, and SMS reminders; process acknowledgments and snoozes; enforce plans and usage limits; verify consent; provide support; prevent abuse; diagnose failures; secure the Service; meet legal obligations; and improve reliability and usability.
We do not use sensitive reminder or document content to build advertising profiles. If we introduce a materially different use, we will update this Policy and request consent where required.
04 Notifications and SMS choices
Push permission is controlled through your device settings. Email reminders can be changed within an alert or account settings. SMS requires a verified number, an eligible plan, and express opt-in. Message frequency varies based on the reminders you create, and message and data rates may apply.
Reply STOP to opt out of SMS or HELP for help. Where supported, reply START to resubscribe. We record these commands so your preferences remain synchronized with our messaging provider. Opting out of SMS does not automatically disable push or email.
05 Documents and AI-assisted features
Document scanning and AI-assisted alert creation are planned features and may not yet be available. When enabled, uploaded PDFs or images may contain sensitive financial, legal, or personal information. We will validate and store uploads privately, extract embedded text when possible, and use OCR for scanned pages when necessary.
Only extracted text and deterministic candidates—not the original document—may be sent to an approved AI provider to produce a structured draft. Sensitive document tasks will be restricted to audited U.S.- or EU-hosted routes configured for zero data retention and no training, with unrestricted provider fallback disabled. You must review and confirm a draft before it becomes an alert.
The Service will identify applicable AI and document subprocessors before these features are enabled. Do not upload a document until the in-app disclosure identifies how it will be processed.
07 Retention and deletion
We keep account and alert information while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. Delivery and security logs are kept for a limited operational period. Billing, consent, opt-out, fraud-prevention, and transaction records may be retained longer when required for compliance, dispute resolution, audits, or enforcement.
When document processing is enabled, original uploads and extracted text will be temporary and deleted after confirmation or after the configured retention period, planned to default to no more than 30 days. Confirmed structured alert fields may remain as part of your saved alert.
You can delete individual alerts or request account deletion. Deletion removes or de-identifies information from active systems within a reasonable period, subject to legal obligations, fraud prevention, provider processing time, and limited backup retention. Opt-out records may be retained to ensure we honor your request.
08 Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information, including access controls, protected authentication tokens, encryption in transit, and restricted private storage. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access or loss will never occur.
09 Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent; and appeal a denied request. You may update certain information directly in account settings or contact us at privacy@ineedalerts.com.
We may verify your identity before completing a request. Authorized agents may be required to provide proof of authority. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right. You may also contact your local privacy regulator.
10 Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. If you believe a child has provided information without appropriate authorization, contact us so we can investigate and delete it as required.
11 International processing
We and our providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use recognized transfer safeguards and contract terms. Sensitive document AI routing, when enabled, will follow the residency restrictions described in this Policy.
12 Policy updates
We may update this Policy as the Service, providers, or law changes. We will post the revised version with a new effective date and provide additional notice when a change materially affects your privacy rights or requires consent.
